Diwali

This Diwali was special as my brother-in-law's 2 boys were also here with us. Those two were so naughty, that we cant manage. And Sanju is a bonus to them.

I designed a dress (chudi dar) for sanju for this occassion. So, in afternoon we went to all our relatives places with a small sweet box. Enough of publicity for her dress [:)]

Evening, we started burning crackers. Initially sanju was little taken a back. But its just for 2 mins. Once she saw her brothers doing it, she could'nt stop herself. We thought she will just do it with sparkles, pencils and all other simple girly things. Soon after she saw her dad lightening flower pots & chakras, she too started doing it. Ofcourse, with her dad's supervision anyway. She want to have all the crackers, not even a single one to go for her brothers. After all, she is 2.6 and they are 8 & 10. Female domination :) Sthree sadhikaratha.

Sanju for fancy dress competetion

In Sanju's school, every satday is a fun day. On satday, they conduct different kind of activities, so kids love to come back on monday. So last satday, it was a fancy dress competetion. All kids were asked to dress up like Doctor, teacher, driver, post man.....whom so ever gives their service to us in daily routine.
Initial thought was to dress up like a teacher in a saree, later we thought we can best utilize her fun medical kit by letting her go in doctor dress. So, we dressed her up in a saree with a doctor over coat and a stethoscope around the neck. She was perfectly looking like a jr doctor. She was to go school at 8:30 and parents to go at 10:30. You know what, she won the second prize from her class.

Worth mention, her class strength is 6 and only two participated for the competetion. Both of them as doctors..[:)]. Hmm...not badd

Sanju started going to school!

Hi,

atlast......after much discussion and analysis, we finally made Sanju (My 2.5yrs old daughter) to join Nursery (he he he) in the school which is just a few steps away from home.

First day in school:
We went to temple, from there after we took Sanju to the school to admit her. Sanju was all excited to join as we prepared her so much by telling that she will have a lot of friends out there...While sanju is excited, i was tensed. Atlast, we finished the formalities and joined her to the nursery class.. there was a group of kids with innocent smiles and looks. When i told Sanju that i am leaving, she was not ready to accept..she wanted me to accompany her there. Teacher told me not to worry about her and leave, after some time she will be able to adjust.. as soon as she heard those words, she started crying. I was like all puzzled and somehow felt very bad that she had to live for 4hrs in the world of dislike everyday. I thought for a moment to pick her up, but there my husband standing and told me not to. Teacher was again to her job reassuring me that she will stop crying and can easily mingle with other kids soon. She was showing me an example of one boy who joined the school in june and till today cries when dropped at school. This made me real worried. Huh!, i had to leave. I made myself strong and walked out of their room overhearing her cry. The time was 10:45AM. We went to principal room to complete few more formalities, but still could make out that she's crying. By the time we finish everything and ready to leave, huh! she is still crying. It was 11:15AM by then. She had to be in school till 12PM.

By 11:30, my mother...NO NO.... now Sanju's grand mother (She's popular that way in our near n dear) was all hurry to go to school to pick her up. Tell you what, it just takes 2 mins to reach that school. Okay..she went to the school and as Sanju heard the voice of her grand mother bursted out into tears with loud voice. She was crying all that time...Its first time in history for Sanju to cry for such a long time. She came home and complained that she didnt like the school at all. Another complaint made to my grandparents (you read it right, they are my grand parents, not hers) is that we left her in school all alone.

Hmm..second day in school. I knew that i am not strong enough to drop her in school when she was crying. So, its her father and herself headed to school. She is like half minded to start, but was not crying. I thought today she will be okay. But NO, as my hubby dropped her there...she started crying and asking to take her back. But this guy is real persistent. He came home. We called up school after about 20 mins and happy to hear that she stopped crying...good sign, isn't it? Routine follows, her grandma to pick her up and Sanju to follow.

Third day in school. She was not ready to dress her up. Quite reluctant to go school. But we forcefully let her start, as we gave the school bag to her, she started crying. I thought this day would be hard. Husband dropped her at school and came home. I asked how is she?, with helpless facial expressions he said she is crying like anything. As usual, mom went to pick her up....here comes the big SURPRISE...Sanju was reluctant to come with her...she wants to be in school. Ohhhhh, what caused this big difference.....Yeah! they took those kids to near by park in school bus and engaged them in play. She came home with bright face and sparkling eyes, when i asked her how the school is.., she said Oh! its nice. Hmm...I'm releived. And she was telling that she would go to school even tomorrow. Ahhhhhhh..tomorrow? Tomorrow is SUNDAY..what to doooooooooooo?
